A series of posters that reflect the dramatic lighting of the theater with deep contrasts and single accent color to make the artwork pop. All production titles are hand-lettered to reflect each respective play.

Design Process
Humbug & Sugar Plum is a musical play combining A Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker as one performance. I decide to go with a candle as the main image as both stories take place during the night. The snowflakes and swirls in the background add the winter aspect with a touch of whimsy for the magic of both plays. The ampersand is combined with a treble clef to symbolize it being a musical.

Lydia by Octavio Solis is about a Mexican - American family adjusting through life after an accident occurs. Lydia is the name of the maid that helps that family. Ceci (the main protagonist) has a connection with Lydia. The final choice of the design was based on a line Ceci says at the beginning of the play. "I flew on wings of glass..." "my body como una bird..."

The House on Mango Street is a screenplay based on the book by Sandra Cisneros. Esperanza, the protagonist, has an affection for trees throughout the screenplay. She relates them to herself and admires their strength. I feel it is the best imagery to use for this poster.
These are early concept sketches of Medea. In Greek mythology, Medea kills her own children as revenge against Jason for betraying her. The idea of the letter "D" taking the form of a knife stuck out and completed the design.
